"A close, very old and good friend of mine had a radical mastectomy a week ago. She had reconstructive surgery along with the removal. She has PERFECT boobs now. I've seen her today and she looks fabulous. The difference is barely visible. She still hasn't got sensation in the breast, but the docs said it's a matter of weeks, maybe months. It's still her skin, it's her breast, she feels it as"

Double Mastectomy? WHY?

"My aunt is having both her breasts removed, although she only has cancer on her right breast. I've asked her doctor why and he said it's because this is protocol in her case. But why? It's not like the cancer can pass from one breast to another right? They're separated by stuff. I want a second opinion, but she's very keen on this dr. So I want to know: is this a mistake and an exaggeration o"

Chemo instead of mastectomy

"I have indication of mastectomy plus post-mastectomy radiation. I've heard of women in my situation that were prescribed chemo and that's it. No radiation, and no breast removal. My doctor said this is not an option for me, but didn't explain anything, although I insisted.
I want to understand, when is it chemo, when is it radiation, when both and when you can only have a partial mastectomy?

"I am a stage III b. Double mastectomy with post-mastectomy radiation is the only option for me to survive.
But do I want to? Do I want to survive without being a full woman? I've heard of women feeling less feminine for having their uterus removed. A close friend of mine got divorced at 50 after her hysterectomy because she didn't feel a woman anymore, she didn't see herself with a man. That,"

"This says it all, I think... To most people it does, anyway. It tells them that I'm not gonna be around much longer, and it's not worth even getting involved in my story. Or that's the feeling I got over the few months I've known, and I've shared my pain with the world.
The thing is, I'm young. Gonna be 32 in July. Cancer progresses fast at this age, and in my case, they discovered late, to"
