oral antibiotics or injections?

"is it true that injections are more efficient than oral medication? my niece was prescribed crystapen for an early case of lyme and she can't stand it. we're not even sure yet she does have lyme. she's terribly afraid of the injection and it totally messes her up. we asked the pediatrician if an oral medication wouldn't be better in her case, and he said it may not be as efficient. is that so?"
