"My husband was recently prescribed the mood stabilizer Lamictal but was supposedly not diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Is this common? I believe he shows all the signs of bipolar. He has been previously diagnosed with ADHD and is on Straterra. He claims the Lamictal is for the mood swings associated with ADHD. Can anyone clear this up for me? Also, does anyone have experience with this drug"

"When I was younger (around 16) my psychiatrist put me on Lithium, Risperdal, Topamax and Zoloft. I was told that I was on (specifically the Risperdal)the max adult dosage. I was not so bad off (I felt) at the time. All that served to do was totally throw me into a state of almost total zombification. "My doctor recently changed my diagnosis to Bipolar Type II. I have been battling what we thought was a very severe unipolar depression for almost 4 years. He said this was a good thing as it explained why the massive list of anti-depressants I have been on didn't work well.

I am taking Lamictal 200mg daily now for Bi-polar II, have been on that since November, I really do not think it is working!! I am still having my "evil spells", I feel like I could bite the head off of a snake one minute and the next I am crying my eyes out or completely manic. Is it just me??"
