When I started chemo, it was clear for me: as soon as I lose more than a couple of hairs a day, I'm shaving it. Yeah, very brave of me... Now I pass my hand through my hair and I take it away full of what used to be my greatest asset. I've always had good hair - always kept it long, curly and rich.

Hair Restoration: Preserving and Maintaining the Aging "Frame" of the Face
Written by Dr. Alan Bauman
"
Hereditary hair loss, considered by many as an unwanted sign of premature aging that can often be ‘seen from across the room,’ currently affects an estimated 50 Million men and 30 Million women in the U.S. Approximately 40% of men in their 40’s are experiencing hair loss and 50% of men in their 50’s, with over a billion dollars spent in the U.S. annually on treatments, ‘cures’ and cover-ups. However, recent advances in medical treatments and procedures offer men and women who suffer from hair loss safe and effective, truly viable methods of maintaining and/or restoring their own natural, living and growing hair. In the battle against visible signs of aging, hair transplantation is consistently one of the most common cosmetic procedures for men, with the number of hair transplantation procedures for women doubling over the past 5 years—according to the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS 2005 Procedure Census Data) and the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS 2005 National Plastic Surgery Statistics).

"The treatment methods that involves chemical substances that reduce the growth pace of cells. It is targeted to mostly affect the sick cancer cells, but it also affects healthy cells since the treatment is holistic and affects the entire body and not just a located area. Although sick cells are affected the most, the affects on healthy cells cause side effects such as nausea, skin rash and hair loss."
