Diagnosed with PTSD and Bi-polar several years ago, I only accepted the PTSD. Recently, I've come to accept the bi-polar diagnosis as well. This has been very difficult for me.

"Not sure where to start, I am helping my son with his recent diagnosis. He was abusing drugs and alcohol for a 1 1/2 years, when he decided to clean up (his 2nd time ). After 2 weeks of being sober he went into a manic state. In which he has tried a tone of different meds. He is now on 1000mg Depakote, and possibly Adderall (which he abused?). I question if these are the right diagnosis and meds"

"My doctor recently changed my diagnosis to Bipolar Type II. I have been battling what we thought was a very severe unipolar depression for almost 4 years. He said this was a good thing as it explained why the massive list of anti-depressants I have been on didn't work well.
My original optimism has been replaced by fear as the meds we're using for Bi-polar if anything have made me worse. With"

"My 16 year old daughter has been diagnosed with NDPH. It started Jan. 2006 with a viral infection. After going to a couple of neurologists who thought she was faking it, we got the NDPH diagnosis at Mayo. The doctor there recommended trying Elavil, Pamelor, Neurontin, Depakote or Tompamax and said that she should continue to get incremental improvement and that with treatment the headache would g"

"I went to my Dr. today and he wants me to try Neurontin. Has anyone had any luck with Neurontin? Tdeannie had mentioned that it didn't work at all for her. Anyone else tried it?
Here's my current situation:
I'm stopping my Depakote (1000 mg/day)(it didn't help at all) and starting up Neurontin along w/ Effexor. I tried Neurontin a couple of years ago, but with a different Doctor an"
