"Hello everyone, I was recently diagnosed as Bipolar 2 I am 45 yrs old, last year I had my first manic psycotic episode of which Im still trying to recover, I havent felt completly normal since, My meds are Lexapro and Depakote, I dont know why it effected me so late in life but im sure that I never had a episode untill last year, has anyone else had a similar experience?"

"My doctor recently changed my diagnosis to Bipolar Type II. I have been battling what we thought was a very severe unipolar depression for almost 4 years. He said this was a good thing as it explained why the massive list of anti-depressants I have been on didn't work well.
My original optimism has been replaced by fear as the meds we're using for Bi-polar if anything have made me worse. With"

I have been severely depressed for almost 4 years.I have been on many meds and combos with little or no relief. My Psychiatrist recently changed my diagnosis from Unipolar depression to Bipolar Type II.
Looking back on my life and some painful stretches it actually makes sense.Bipolar if often unrecognized especially at an early age. I"

I am taking Lamictal 200mg daily now for Bi-polar II, have been on that since November, I really do not think it is working!! I am still having my "evil spells", I feel like I could bite the head off of a snake one minute and the next I am crying my eyes out or completely manic. Is it just me??"
