Hi, my name is Mee but I answer to a whole lot more names ( ).
I use a Bi-Pap machine.I have what was diagnosed as Complex Sleep Apnea or CSA. A combination of mostly central events with a few obstructive snores thrown in for good measure. My score or AHI (Apnea-hypopnea index)was a 61 well over the 30 severe rating. One central "event" per minute on my back. I just stop breathing once every minute and then give a jerk and breath. Go figure. I could use my Bi-Pap as a leaf blower I kid you not.
Mee and the mask. We can talk about that while you try and adjust. A friend of mine with a severe obstructive issue swears by his and wouldn't go to bed without it.
Mee and the mask didn't have such a good experience but I got used to it.
And it has literally saved my life while trying to recover from a car accident which Also left me with huge challenges trying to GET asleep. Worst part of my day is the battle between my ears and sleep.
Thank goodness for the internet and MDJunction!
I'm familiar with a lot of sleep issues now specifically with the sleep study test. I am unfortunately familiar with sleep issues I bring on myself. I dread sleep. Hate it but can relate with anyone who cannot adhere to normal sleep routines and "expert" medical opinions just to lose weight. That will kick start my automatic nervous system.
Everyone's welcome to join a conversation about sleep!
