Hi my name is Gail I'm 47and live in western North Carolina. I'm a personal care coordinator for a long term care facility. My husband Donald and I will celebrate our 30th. anniversary 08/07/08. We have 1 daughter Barbara (29) that lives near by. she is great and a lot of support. Our son Billy (27)just got out of the army, after 7 years . He did 2 tours in IRAQ. We are counting our blessings that we have him home. My sister and her family of 4 live with us so we are a lot like the Walton's.

3 Years ago during a simple hysterectomy my pancreases was injured and I became a insulin dependent diabetic. The GP was unable to get my sugar under control and I became sicker and sicker. Every time I saw my GP they said I had another virus. The sicker I got the higher my sugar went. I finally saw a Endocrinologist who sent me to a liver specialist, I had Hep A and was dx. with Cirrhosis. They put me on a insulin pump and now my sugar is finally under control.

I'm honored to be a group leader for the cirrhosis support group. I hope to be of assistance when ever you need me as we battle this horrible disease together. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I'm here for you.
