JAYEPAWS"It means that finally I have someone to relate too. that I'm not the only one with these kind of problems. it really feels good not to be alone in this. I've made some good friends. I appreciated the support that I have found here at this site,

where as other parts of my life I don't get.
Thank you for being there & creating this site.

I’m 57 years old and have prostate cancer. I was diagnosed in October of 2008—a week after my wife learned she had endometrial cancer!—and had surgery two months later. I’m supposedly cancer-free, but I worry from one PSA check to the next that the cancer will return.

I think I speak for a lot of us when I say I‘m not the same person I was before the cancer. Life for me is more precious now, and even as I deal with the limitations the cancer and surgery have left me with, I remain optimistic. Hearing the stories and concerns of other men with PC, and of their loved ones, has helped me retain that optimism. I’m glad I found this forum and am happy to make some small contribution to it.

Hi, My husband (b 1946) was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June 2010. We’ve received a lot of support and information from others on this forum, and want to offer my perspective as the partner, in the hope other men and women find it helpful. I came to this site very early in our process, and found the personal stories and candid sharing to be useful, comforting and sometimes humorous (yes, there IS laughter after PCa). I appreciate the support, and, like the other leaders, want to contribute and help in any way possible.
