I have had NDPH since May 12th 2006 with my diagnosis coming about three months after that. Having a headache 24/7 has changed just about all areas of my life, but little by little I am learning how to live with it and finding medications that make life easier.
I have found it helpful to talk to other people that understand 24/7 pain and the frustration of not knowing what caused this headache. If you or someone you love is in this difficult situation I hope this forum can be of help to you as well.
I have had the 24/7 headache I now known to be NDPH since 01/2006. It all started with a sinus infection, and ever since, my health has been in a downward spiral with NDPH and some other struggles such as fibro. It took me a few years to get the correct diagnosis because many doctors still don't know about NDPH--they thought I had Chronic Daily Headache with Migraine. Once I got the correct diagnosis, it was easier for the doctors to understand why none of the treatments they tried helped me. After having many doctors tell me they didn't have any more treatment ideas, I resorted to narcotic pain management to help take the edge off the pain and help me have a little bit of a life.
It helps to have a supportive husband and baby tortoise to bring some joy into my life. Being in your early 20s and dealing with chronic pain and illness can be tough, but somehow I still manage to work full time. I enjoy chatting with everyone online because its wonderful to have friends who can relate to my health situation. Feel free to message me if you want to chat about NDPH or similar headache conditions. I'm happy to have been asked to be a group leader!
