MDJunction to me

JoSh11"MDJunction is at least as big a part of my healing as the medications I take. Finding others with the same health challenges has truly been a Godsend. The support & information I receive here give me the courage to stand up for my needs in social situations, as well as the techniques & references to help my friends & family understand this Invisible Chronic Illness." A little about me: I am a 50 year old female, nurse that worked my entire life, mostly in emergency. Then in 2003, I was in a car accident with minor injuries I thought. 3 weeks later I could not walk on my feet. I was a runner for 30 years, very athletic. When I felt (past tense as I have been through severe ptsd, hopefully I will feel good again) good, I am very talkative and social. I am just used to being respected. I love cats and dogs, and recently lost my precious Rainey (a 9 yr old lab sharpei) that did not act sick, and she had cancer, passed away in 12 days. I am heartbroken. I moved to this state 5 years ago, and after 2 years of not working was able to work again. Then the job left town, and my dad asked me to care for him, as he got lung cancer. Then my mom got a stroke. My sisters did not help, and stress built. I started to get a flare of what I now realize is fibromyalgia, and plantar fascitis. I was running a practice trying to get a partner, but am now on disability. I would love to get to know other health care people, and I met someone named Bonnie on another site. Hope to find her.
