MDJunction to me

Nevayda"Mdjunction Tourette Syndrome site has given me the opportunity to share my experience of raising a child with TS, with others, especially those with new diagnosis. Support is essential for families and individuals with tourette as is information. I'm glad to have the opportunity to be there. I also learn as I go as others share their experience and knowledge." A little about me: I was diagnosed with Bipolar in 2006 after a significant manic episode and was hospitalised for 5 weeks. I went through a difficult 12 months following my diagnosis, battling depression and being homeless. I returned to study in 2008 and completed a Certificate in Nursing. In 2009 I began working in a mental health facility and a held this position with alot of hard work and determination. Things began to go backwards in 2010 following a change in medication. By the beginning of 2011, I walked away from being a nurse and moved back to my home state. Since then I have struggled with anxiety and depression. I am lucky however that I have settled into a place of my own. Having my own place has been a long term goal and I like to have my own privacy. The down side is dealing with loneliness and isolation. These are areas of my life I am keen to improve. I would also like to return to study in the future. Recently I was diagnosed with ADHD and PTSD. These illnesses do not define me as a person and I am a big believer in hope and perseverance. Thank you for reading if you have made it this far. We are all on a journey and should never give up no matter how dark and scary things may get. MDJ continues to help me through a very difficult time in my life. Do reach out and ask for help. There is no shame in it and a little support can go a long way to helping one recover.

My Diary
New Beginnings
My struggle with Bipolar is about to begin a new chapter. I want to be able share and vent about things in my daily life and not keep everything bottled up. I feel that this is a good time to start a diary. I am somewhat excited about the future, though I remain cautious and frightened.
