| A little about me: | I have had RSD/CRPS for over 13 years. I developed the syndrome after a surgery to fuse cervical spinal elements ended up with damaged nerves in my right arm. In the years since then the RSD has spread so it affects all four limbs, my back, and internal organs. I have tried most treatments, many medications with some success initially but now am just waiting for something to come along and help my extreme pain. I have found that being as active as I can and finding ways to help others does more to relieve my pain than most treatments and medications. So here I am, offering a listening ear, an empathetic viewpoint, respect, concern and support. I am a diabetic, have degenerative disc disease and have life threatening allergies, chemical sensitivities and severe asthma. I'm a retired Presbyterian pastor. I am now in a power wheelchair and have also lost most use in one arm because of RSD. One good thing, I have a good canine friend who is my service dog and another retired from the job. Hanna is my sheltie who worked for me for 10 years and has almost accepted her retirement at 13 years old. Levi, my collie is five years old and took over as my service dog and partner. I really don't know if I would still be without them. I live alone in my home in Columbia, MO, with friends around me and family distant (physically and emotionally). Amazing what pain does to family and friends. You really know who cares. I have no medical training as a doctor or nurse, so all opinions are just that: opinions based on my experience and much reading. If I can be of any help to you as a friend feel free to PM me for private conversation. I'm also here for discussion of service dogs and service dog training for RSD (and other disabilities.) |

"I have Lived with RSD/CRPS for 11 years now. I would not have believed 12 years ago that anyone could live with this level of pain and disability for 11 months, much less 12 years. My answer includes keep moving and keep helping others." |
"I live with diabetes and osteoporosis, My mother lived with osteoporosis. I use reclast for the osteo. Doesn't fix it but at least slows it's progress. My brother lives with diabetes and grandmother also lived with it. Because of my other meds and my paticular body system, I have to use insulin daily. Have learned to live with it because I can't live without it. Other medical problems mean that I must take oral and inhaled steroids which make keeping blood sugars controlled a problem but again I live with it. I live as actively as I can and give as much as I can." |
"Hope is my watch word and what I live for; that and helping others. With extreme environmental allergies and asthma, COPD, Congestive Heart Failure, diabetes, RSD/COPD, arthritis, degenerative disc disease...And I am only 60Medicine had better start catching up with solving some of these things or I am not going to enjoy my sunset years (~; So I live on hope and often not much else. Except helpting others. Nothing better than that for feeling better at least for a bit." |
"My father had severe heart disease and a brother sufferes as deeply. I stand beside him and everyone who struggles with this disabling disease." |

My Hugs
![]() | Sending much love, care, healing prayers and thoughts out to each of you. I've missed you and the time many of us shared together. Just diagnosed with Gastritis by ERCP 2 days ago. My stomach a lining is extremely inflamed and swollen. A biopsy was taken, stones found beneath my liver and the gall bladder tissue regrowth. My gall bladder was removed nearly 15 months ago. Needles to say the pain is horrible in addition to CRPS. I will be getting the photos from the RSDSA SF Conference edited onto my blog soon. I promise! 2 procedures and a surgery to go. As always I wish you pain eased days and nights, please always be as well as you can be. Warm wishes, ~Twinkle V. Sent from Kindle Fire |
