A little about me: I'm 43, divorced. I have IBS, PCOS, and diverticulitis and I still work full time. I have no children other than cats. I managed to get a masters and only suffered 4 diverticular flares.

I have the PCOS under control and it's not that bad. I'm one of the lucky ones, but I feel there should be more information out there. I self diagnosed at the time it was just coming out in the women's journals and into the health community. Had I known more, I would have tried to get pregnant earlier. Because I didn't until I was married, it was too late. Too late for my damaged ovaries to ovulate and too late for the remaining eggs to mature correctly.

My IBS is nearly under control. I think it's mild when I hear about my brother's bouts. I haven't had to do more than use the fiber. I have great doctors and I know my triggers. Now if I could only control my anxiety...

The only thing I cannot seem to control is this diverticulitis. My mother says it's due to my eating habits and lifestyle. I have to say, I practice what I was taught. I also have the genes for it. I just have to deal with the hand I hold now. Guess what? Mom has it too now.

a HugDue to another illness that is interfering with my daily lfe, I'm going to have to give up being one of the IBS Group Leaders. Please think of being the new GL for this wonderful group of people. You are all so caring and supportive to one another - and that's all it takes to be a good GL! Just click on the "Group Leader" tab at the top of the page, and send a message that you are interested. God bless you all. hugs, violett
