| A little about me: | Suffering from chronic headaches and neck/shoulder pain since Nov 2007. Over the course of three days I developed a terrible headache on my right side - focused around my eye, forehead, and cheek. Doctor said it was a sinus infection and gave me antibiotics. No relief. After 10 days of serious pain the headache finally broke. As soon as the pain went down from the 7/8 level to more of a 3/4 I was aware of right sided neck/shoulder pain. Since then I have consistently had right sided headaches and neck/shoulder pain. Brain MRI's all came back normal. MRI's of my neck showed four moderately bulging discs. Prior to the original headache I had no history of migraine, etc. Over the last 15 months my headache comes and goes. It may be around for an hour and then gone for an hour. I may have it every day for a week and then not have it for three days. I have been unable to get a real diagnosis from the doctors. So far they've thought it was related the the DDD in my neck and now they're calling it chronic migraine. However, after finding this website I wonder if it's NPDH?? The ability to identify the start of the headache to a certain day seems consistent with NPDH. I'm joining this group hoping to learn more about treatment options. It also seems like this is a very supportive group which is something I need b/c I feel very alone and hopeless about getting better much of the time. I feel like my life has been completely interrupted and may never go back to "normal." |
