| A little about me: | I am 46 years old, and was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder late in 2006. I am between a I and a II, but luckily have never tried to commit suicide, never been treated for substance abuse, and have, generally been pretty functional all things considered. It was a relief to get the diagnosis because it explains so much; why most of my life I have felt awful, never wanted to go anywhere or do anything, and then, on the flip side, occasionally I would feel on top of the world, spend like a drunken sailor, become sexually crazed, lose lots of weight for no apparent reason, and feel invincible. I'm current on 125 mg. daily of Lamictal. The PDoc indicated that this med may not work for me because I am at the highest end of II, but so far I think it does work. I do miss the mania though. |
