| A little about me: | I am a 38 yr old female that was finally diagnosed with FMS and CFS in May of 2008, after being in pain constantly since Jan. 2002 caused by a horrendous slip and fall that messed me up pretty bad. I have had 3 bulging discs in my neck, 2 have been repaired by fusion surgery, and three ruptured discs in my lower lumbar which I have yet to have repaired. I have seen chiropractors, neurologists, neurosurgeons. Had tests done for Lupus, MS and arthritis, thyroid conditions, pituitary gland conditions, etc. Finally, after being in constant pain with headaches, not being able to sleep and being depressed because of the amount of pain, my PCP came back with a diagnosis FMS/CFS. I am grateful to put a name with the condition, now I just wish there was an easier way to deal with it. I am sure that some of the emotional tragedies that happened in 2002 contributed to it also. I lost my grandson (by marriage) at the age of 3 mos old, got divorced and my mother passed away from breast cancer on 9/11/02. It was not a good year for me. Since then, emotionally I have been able to put my life back together, but physically it's more difficult. I hope through this support group, I can listen to what others say and get an idea of how to cope with it. |
