| A little about me: | I am a 25 year old female. Most of my life two things have plagued me. Having cystic acne and my depression. Both of which I thought I would grow out of. Well here I am a quarter of a century old and both are still present in some form or another. I started taking Lamictal recently and wow! That has really made my life better! I have the courage and confidence that I have always wanted. Plus I am a great deal more organized and active. Sounds great huh? Well I suppose it would be if I could get everything done during the daytime. No, I'm not a vampire or some crazy person who hates the sun. On the contrary I have Cystic Acne which is the harshest and the most painful form of acne. Because of the horror on other peoples faces when they see me I chose not to go out during the day. I am a very clean and healthy person. Always have been. All the different medications over the counter and on the shelf have either made it worse (that is hard to imagine) or done nothing. Homeopathic treatments also not strong enough. The bright side is that eventually I will find something to help it, yes I am very optimistic, the not so bright side is that cystic acne is known for leaving indentations and pot holes all over your face where the acne was present. From all the years that I have had this hereditary problem my scars are plenty. I was told by my doctor that all the scar creams in the world wouldn't help. My only way to regain a "normal" face or at least something that resembles one is plastic surgery. Lets be honest here, most people (including myself) don't have that kind of money. So even after I get rid of all these painful cysts on my face the scars will just be a constant reminder of my traumatic life thus far. I have tried makeup on the few places without acne and the scars are just to red and purple to be covered up. This is my story and like I stated before, I am an optimistic person, I just need a little help right now. |
