A little about me: I am 33 years old, I worked as a social worker for the Department of Family Services but resigned to be with my children. I have been diagnosed with Bipolar II in 1997 but confirmed for the second time this past year.

I am getting a divorce, so that makes me a single mom, smile.

I love science fiction movies and series on television. I also enjoy the horror genre as well. (funny enough- I cannot read horror books, gives me nightmares, lol.) I also love art, going to the museum and learning about history (World War I and II and Vietnam- anything from the twentieth century/ but I do enjoy new factoids about any era).

I hate math, anything to do with math, I am totally lost. I am also a technology impared person who is now trying to figure out how to use the chat rooms and so on.

Lastly, rock on Battlestar Galatica and Jericho- argumentally the best science fiction series ever created...

I think that this sums me up.

Just to let you know, I should have been arrested a lot of times for the things I did, 99% of the time when I was drinking. That really embarrasses me because I'm a baptized Jehovah's witness, you know one of those people that come around your neighborhood offering free home bible studies and bible literature. so I understand your guilt, but if I have to hide it and can't laugh about it, then I feel my disease is winning. Living with secrets has all but destroyed my last 10 years. Good news--Since 10-10-07, my sobriety date, I have done nothing illegal nor do I ever intend to again. I gave up smoking 1-08. And being a single male for the time being I ridded myself of pornaography. My conscience cannot permit it and I still feel clean and sober. I have struggled with a lot of guilt but now it's getting deeper and deeper in my past and I am engaged (to Sugarluv as she's known on this site.).

Wow Shelby, Thanks for that last hug. You really told me a lot about you.

I didn't know you were deaf. You type very good english. Youmust have been older when you lost your hearing. You will notice that after my posts I include a quote from Helen Keller.

I learned ASL as an effort in my religious group in our effort nationwide to seek out those who would enjoy our companionship (believe me I know it is reclusive and I am sorry. still, I am glad you find some of what you need here.)

We go visit thes at a time and place convienient to them.
I like to look ahead at what is promised at Isaiah 35:5, "At that time the eyes of the blind ones will be opened and the very ears of the DEAF ones will be unstopped.". "...but the meek ones themselves will possess the earth and they will indeed find their EXQUISITE DELIGHT in the abundance of peace." (Psalm 37:11)

I joined this group and learned ASL because I thought it was a very loving arrangement for the deaf. If you would like to try this as a support group also I can help find a couple of women in your area who are either deaf themselves or like me. we are vounteers. we do this because we want to. All of us are trained to not make others feel uncomfortable.

Sorry that subject dominated. I had something else entirely in mind until I read you were deaf.

Don't ever give up Shelby. Keep looking. Keep knocking. Keep seeking. ( Luke 11:9) It will be given you. It will.
