| A little about me: | I was adopted when I was 2 years old and I have never met my biological mother. It is difficult for me not knowing my roots (medical and otherwise), something most people take for granted. I cannot just look at my family and see myself reflected in their faces/bodies, like most people can. It is extremely difficult when I see people/families who look like each other. I have been suffering with depression, anxiety, and compulsive overeating for about 15 years, since I was 10-11 years old. I have trouble with interpersonal relationships due to the depression and anxiety. I have a terrible problem with my body image which has affected my friendships and relationships. I didn't want to leave the house for a while because I was so embarrassed about the way I looked and felt. I have lost some weight but still feel uncomfortable with my body. I recently started seeing a new therapist, I hope it helps. |
