I am there with you GA Hostage. The one I loved for 22 years became an addict for the past year and a half. It's like watching someone slowly die of cancer. I am looking for dialogue for those of us who love our partners and are not willing to give up on them. I send you a prayer and a hug and suggest that like Mommyof6 suggested that you and I go to Narc-Anon for those who are friends and family of drug addicts. It's so hard. Hang in there. And most of all, love yourself and try not to blame yourself for what is his problem.--J.

I know exactly what you are going through even though I am not married we have been engaged for a year and a half. He stops for three or four months at a time and I,m always hoping one of these time will be for good and then he goes back and I feel so stupid. Since we have moved he had not donr it until we went home for a visit. so am I also SOS

MY SON IS AN ADDICT MY HEART GOES OUT TO YOU ITS A LONG HARD JOURNEY WITH MANY HEARTACHES AND LET DOWNS JUST NO YOU CANT CHNAGE HIM HE HAS TO DO IT NO MATTER HOW HARD YOU TRY IT WONT WORK MY SON HAS BEEN IN SEVERAL REHABS AND HE IS OK FOR A FEW MONTHS THEN HERE WE GO AGAIN NOW HE IS ON HIS OWN THIS IS THE LIFE HE CHOSE MY DAUGHTER DIDNT CHOOSE THIS CANCER SHE HAS I LOVE MY SON DEARLY BUT IM TIRED OF BEING HIS STEPPING STONE ITS TOUGH LOVE TIME NOW MANY HUGS TO YOU
