A little about me:	I am 37 yrs. old, I was dianosed with systemic lupus erythematosus at age 34. The doctors believe I may have had it for atleast a year before I decided to go to a doctor. It started with pain in my right knee then traveled to my hip. I started getting real sick and seemed to always be in bed. I would come home from work and just go straight to bed. I have two boys one was 11 at the time and the other 13. I remember them getting upset with me because I couldn't do much with them anymore. I used to be very active with sports when I was younger and also with my kids. I would cry not knowing what was wrong with me. Then I started getting this rash all over my arms and my face and back. No matter what I did I couldn't get it to go away. I was so embarrassing and I couldn't cover it up. So then I went to a Dermatologist, they did a biopsy and that is when everything came together.

In my heart I know its lupus Its just going thru the process the doctor is hoping cfids and cebv but none of these explain the hearing loss 50 percent on one ear and 40 the other. The time I felt my best was when I was on 80 mg injections of predision a week for a year

Yeah, when I finally told my hubby that I stoped taking them he fliped big time. But I am soooo tired of it. As you know the feeling really well.
And prednisone! You poor thing. I hate that stuff with a passion. I told my doctor to not prescribe that for me ever because I will not take it or fill it. Its a miricle drug but its sooo hard!! I gained over 30 pounds with that crap. Its a dr. jeckle and mr. hyde drug.

Hi Trudy! I was put on Prednisone for a month or so and gained like 10lbs, then went off of them and lost like 20lbs. Then they tryed me on all different kinds of meds nothing worked and I was in extreme pain with all my joints and muscles, some days I couldn't get out of bed! And I have a baby so even if I hurt I had to push myself to take care of my son. I decided I couldn't bare anymore so I had them put me back on prednisone about 2 months ago and I have felt GREAT! But I've gained 10lbs back! I want to find a medication that works, but doesn't have the weight gaining side effect! What are you taking now that you are off prednisone? And the bad thing is, is that most people who have inflamation take ibprofin, but I am allergic to it! I just wish I could find a medication that works!
