| A little about me: | I've had NDPH for over 8 years after getting DVT in June 2000 in my left calf. A small bleed in my head is the likely suspect and fter 6 months of fighting to be taken seriously at my GP's and local hospitals about my disabling pain level's I was finally refurred to Queens Sqr London to see Prof Goadsby. He took me down the drug rute for nearly 4 years, then refurred me to see Mr L. Watkins who implanted a ONS device in the back of my head. Although I had a very good honeymoon period with it, problems of burning and sharpness at the back of my head started and became a secondry source of pain. My electrode was replaced with the new paddle electrodes + I had my Medtronic battery moved from my chest to my abdomen to help comfort. I'm still having problems withthe ONS but it's worth having as it help reduce my pain by 60%-50% of the time. I'm unable to work and have problems remembering things short term, also bored stiff with daytime TV!!! I'm married with no children, money is always a problem as I don't receive any Gov benifits and servive only on my wife's income. As of July '09 I have the new 4 wire ONS & Supra's with the rechargeable battery installed. Having lots of problems with it pain wise and also my battery won't charge. |
