| A little about me: | After a routine physical in June, 2011 showed a PSA of 5.1 (previous reading in 2010 was 3.2), I was diagnosed with PCa in August, 2011. Biopsy showed 2 of 12 cores having 10-15% cancer. Gleason 3+3=6, but with a "suspicion" of pattern 4, so doctors advised against active surveillance. Prostatectomy perfomed on November 3, 2011. Pathology report confirmed Gleason 3+4=7 with 40% of the tumor being pattern 4. Margins were negative, but there was a focal extraprostatic extension. Based on pathology report, surgeon gave me an 85-90% chance of being cured (no recurrence). Urinary incontinence due to surgery was mild (just stress incontinence that lasted a couple of months). I decided to be aggressive about penile rehab, taking 2.5 mg of Cialis weekdays and 20 mg of Cialis on weekends. Inadequate response to Cialis, so use a Trimix injection for erections. Use a vacuum pump to draw blood into the penis on days that I don't inject. Looking forward to the day (hopefully) when I put aside the medications (at least the injections) and have "normal" erections. |
