MDJunction to me

MisaBlue01"MD Junction has been a safe haven for me. I have met so many caring and understanding people and i don't feel so alone anymore with my bipolar. I now know that others suffer as well and that we need each other for support. I hope that one day we can all learn to love and respect each other more and that no one will have to suffer anymore." A little about me: I am a 51 year old female. I have two adult sons and 6 beautiful grandchildren. I was diagnosed with cirrhosis about 2 years ago (d/t NASH). I have had most all of the complications that come from cirrhosis. I just finished the evaluation for a liver transplant for the second time. I went through the eval. last year but was not listed because my meld score stayed around 12. This past Nov. my meld score has came up to 16 and I have now developed portal vein thrombosis. I am taking coumadin to prevent anymore clotting....but taking it places me at even a higher risk of bleeding (I have had bleeding varices in the past). Since I am on the coumadin my INR is rising which raises my meld. Doctors feel that I will probably be able to get a new liver withing the next 6 months. I am trying to keep myself as healthy as possible by keeping as active as possible and walking as much as I can. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful supportive family.
