MDJunction to me

ITeach91"MD Junction has been a lifeline to me. The support and information I receive from group members is so important for me to maintain a good quality of life. I struggled with a diagnosis of adrenal insufficiency and did not know where to turn, but then I found MD and it has been one of the most important tools to help me to enjoy my life and stay as healthy as possible. We really are stronger together than we could ever be alone." (ITeach91)

A little about me: I've lived with RA for 10 years now. It has changed my life. About 6 mo after giving birth to my daughter, I had foot pain that felt like knives being stabbed into my feet. They found RA. No genetic link that I know of. I've gone through many different medications since, with many failures along the way. My husband at the time never really understood what I was going through or why I was unable to work my scheduled 12 hr shifts on many nights as a nurse. Three years ago, our marriage ended, we forclosed on our home, declared bankruptcy, I had to quit working completely, and have gone through 2 yrs of hell.

I am now realizing that the divorce was the best thing that happened to me. I have wonderful supportive people around me now who would do anything to help. My children are a blessing and I'm thankful every day they are around me. I'm happier than I've been in many years.

Physically, I'm now on social security disability and struggle every day with this disease. It's brought upon other secondary diagnoses along with many other meds. I'm now awaiting to see if insurance will approve Acterma infusions (the 3rd infusion I will try). We'll see what happens!

"For many different reasons. For myself it represents my journey w/ RA, fibro, chronic pain, Sjogren's Syndrome, emotional abuse, and many other dx. It's for my mom who struggles w/ OA and Sjogren's Syndrome and gives me strength every day. Lastly, it's for my son who was just dx w/ PDD under the autism spectrum- I love my kids more than they'll ever know!"

My Diary

I'm so thankful for finding this support group. I should have explored this option to fulfill the mind/body/spirit thing earlier. Living with this disease process for 10 yrs has left me medically disabled and in more pain than I ever experienced, but more thankful than ever. I have learned to appreciate my children more, appreciate my TRUE friends more, and appreciate my parents more than ever for all the sacrifices they've made for me in the last few years. It's quite a journey we all go on, facing this beast known as RA, but I think having the support of others who face the beast with you every day helps in more ways than one.
