MDJunction to me

neshama48"Having Crohn's Disease for over 26 years, in the first few years, it lonely and isolating.
Though now my disease is in a near perfect remission, my friends and family are sympathetic to me, but I can not talk to them about this disease. When I stumbled across MD Junction, and met others who had the same disease I was not alone in battling the disease. MD Junction is like a second family, without the judgement or guilt of having Crohn's Disease, but they do give you love and support.

A little about me: I have had symptoms since 2003. They came and went and came again... they changed a lot and I was always thought of as psychosomatic by my docs, family and close friends. I was "dramatic".

I finally was having more severe symptoms this past year that made me look at my medical history and try to find a link.

I randomly watched Under Our Skin one day on netflix and said, AH HA! That's me!!! lol My husband thought I was crazy and said, "Oh dear Lord, please don't tell me you think you have that, too!" So I shooed it under the rug and moved on with life.

Well then my symptoms got worse again, and I read more about Lyme online. I looked up symptoms and what to ask the doc.

So one day, my mother in law took me to the doc because I had diarrhea for weeks, and I would explode (sorry if TMI) every time I ate. The doc told me it was IBS... Well she didn't even care to look at any of my other symptoms. She said "go to a therapist for anxiety."

I asked her to do a Western Blot (before I knew anything about the false-negatives). It came back 1 band positive, but only like 5 were tested.

Then I went to a different doc to see what he thought of my medical history and to see if there was a link. He diagnosed my with Somatization Disorder (psychosomatic).

I knew that there was something to the one positive band, so I went to a LLMD in Seattle and was clinically diagnosed. I started treatment: doxy and tindamax as well as some other supplements. I took another western blot and wham bam thank you ma'am, POSITIVE according to the CDC! Sooooo.......... I'm a Lymie now.
