A little about me: When I turned thirty in 2009, I knew it was going to be a different kind of a year.

Most would tell you that it's the new 'twenties' but that couldn't be further from the truth.

In general, I was what most would consider the healthiest human on the planet. Ok, I'm exaggerating.

We've all be sick with the flu, or had an extra helping of chocolate cake, downed one too many beers, but when I say healthy, I mean, whatever illness I crossed, I overcame very quickly.

But this time I knew something was very wrong. It all started with fatigue. Debilitating fatigue! What the hell?!

At 30?! I kept dismissing it as just being tired, overworked, kids, husband, etc...

Then I felt that first sharp wrist pain, then it went over to my feet, then came the tingling, brain fog, acne, and finally, a full blown panic which sent me to the ER in total confusion.

Of course, you wouldn't be surprised if I tell you that after eight hours of testing, I left very discouraged and hopeless, and with no answer.

This went on for months and I knew I needed to find a source of help very quickly. After numerous doctor's visits, I called a local naturopath.

I expected a very simple diagnosis. After listening to my complaints, she immediately suspected Lyme, something I've never hear of till then.

Seven months after my first symptom, I had been diagnosed. I cried in anger and relief at the same time.

I wasn't panicked because I was told how lucky I was to have found out so quickly.

Here I am exactly one year later still feeling frustrated but knowing that I have been worse and have come a good ways after a year of hard antibiotics.

Currently I'm doing Banderol and Somento and nervous about making this transition.

I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you who are on the same journey as me. Good luck to all!
