| A little about me: | Well this is the part that I always hate: writing about me. Never know how to start because I'm a jumbled mess. This seems as good of a start as any other so I'll start here. I was a single mom of two boys, 1 and 3 for two years after the sperm donor ran away. Those were some tough years but I made it through. Other than online friends, I was isolated for most of that time. Now I live with my boyfriend, who is also agoraphobic, and our two kids. I have two bachelors cum laude, one in special education and one in accounting. The bachelor's in accounting, I got while struggling with bipolar and panic disorder so the school was online. I'm currently working on my Masters, also online, while struggling to adjust to agoraphobia and how it triggers my bipolar all the time. My other academic achievements are as follows: National Dean's List, Dean's List, Chancellor's List, Teaching Fellowship, Prospective Teachers scholarship, Alpha Chi National Honor Society, Who's Who, Beta Club, Drama Club, Phi Sigma Pi National Honor Fraternity, Delta Sigma Chi, Representative at Student Government Association, and National Mathematic Award. I play the clarinet and saxophone. With the clarinet I've been all county two times, all district four times, and all state once. I've also won Outstanding Soloist and several first place placings for solos. I was in the Symphonic Band, Flag Core, and Marching Band. With the saxophone, I was in Jazz band and got first place for improv. soloist I got the McFayden Music Scholarship to go to UNC-Greensboro but shortly afterwards, it was discovered that I have pinched nerves and it hampered my playing. I still play in my free time. I'm a beginner writer. I have not had anything published yet per se but I have written a preface for non published books. I'm currently working on poetry. Its my hope to get it published. I'm an avid MMA and martial arts fan. I've being tutored in martial arts by my boyfriend. The current weapon that I'm learning and have an affinity for is the nunchachu. There is just something magical about how the stick wraps around the body without hurting. Religion wise, I follow the left hand path and am a student in the occult. Politically, I identify with conservatism. Lifestyle wise I'm a goth. My favorite singers are Danzig, HIM, Soulidium, and 69 eyes to name a few. Relatively speaking, I'm so called "young" to mental disorders. I was diagnosed with severe bipolar and severe panic disorder in 2007 after a short stay in a behavioral health care center. As of this date, my panic disorder has grown into agoraphobia but have not gotten medical treatment for it yet. My mind tends to jump from subject to subject so "A little about me" is a little scattered to read so I'm sorry about that. I'm a late bloomer on agoraphobia. Its hard because I used to have a job and could go out to a club here and there. Now, its very hard for me to go out so its limited to groceries and all. I don't even take the kids out in the backyard much or participate in mommy and me groups. Its hard knowing how my issues are hurting the kids social development because they are not around other kids. As of right now, I'm not on any medications. They tried me on depakote and serequel but those did not work. The last one was lithium and I tried to kill myself on it. My boyfriend had to intervene and we decided to quit lithium. My old psychologist LOVES lithium and ignores what I say about it so now I'm waiting on a new psychologist. All in all I just keep trying to deal with my issues while going for my goals in life.    |
