A little about me: I'm turning 24 this year, and my boyfriend is turning 22 in a couple of weeks. We've been together for close to 2 years now, and it has been a very loving relationship.

When I first met him, I thought he was brilliant. He's intelligent, funny, and all-round awesome. He can relate to almost anyone with ease, adept at picking his topics and he truly makes people feel at home in his company.

He came out to me admitting he had been diagnosed bipolar very early on in the relationship. He encouraged me to find out more about this condition in order to know what to expect. I tried, but still know very little.

I try my best to be there for him - I worry when he's in his (sometimes prolonged) manic states, and then I attempt to comfort him as best I can once the depression kicks in. But it is hard.

For the past few years, he hasn't taken prescription drugs to treat his condition. He insists he can hold them out, and he often does. But the duration of these episodes sometimes are very worrying-ly longer than even he can stand. He's in art school now, and I fear he may drop out (again).

Any informative help from you guys would be very much appreciated. <3
