MDJunction to me

WantDignity"The one word that works for MDJunction is "Togetherness". I have Borderline Personality Disorder plus I am a Self-Injury addict. The groups have helped me because everyone with the same problems come together to hold each other up through the hard times. Much gratitude to MDJunction." (WantDignity)

A little about me: I believe a healthy self-esteem is the key to a healthy life; I have learned healthy coping skills and I want to sure the skills with each of you.

My whole life I have lived in Baltimore, Maryland. I come from a single, working class family; my mother has worked in a steel factory for the past 43 years. My mother provided a good life for my sister and I; however, she was very challenged in the areas of reading and writing. (She is illiterate) Therefore, I had to teach myself how to read and write.

This created a challenging life for me, dropping out of school at age 16 and giving birth to my daughter at 17. My life went in the direction of poverty, alcohol abuse and domestic violence. Tragically, my life was “almost” ended on January 31, 2011, due to domestic violence.

It as at that very moment, I choose life and I rebuilt myself and I wan to help each of you. This journey is no eazy, it requires each of you to look deep inside yourself..Learning your weaknesses and growing from them..

Remember....

Self-esteem means you really like yourself, both inside and out. It refers both to how you look and what you believe in.

Be honest with yourself. Figure out your strengths and weaknesses. Don't beat yourself up over your weaknesses. Don't compare yourself to others. It's hard at times, but accept yourself.

•Set realistic goals for yourself.

•Try to get the most out of your strengths and do your best, without demanding unrealistic results of yourself.

•Celebrate your achievements.

•Trust your own feelings.

•Take it one day at a time. Do your best each day.

******************************************
sometimes you just have to take a step back and look at the bigger picture. stop looking into everything with too much detail and realise everything happens for a reason.
