A little about me: I'm 30 (going on 6 years old), boasting an irrepressible joie de vivre that has seen me through Crohn's Disease, thyroid cancer, endometriosis, PCOS, arteriovenous malformations, gastroparesis, and slew of other less serious medical issues.

To an outsider, my life may appear to be a string of failures since I haven't been able to "stick" with anything due to the challenges posed by my health problems. But on the inside, it's been a wondrous journey of unforgettable experiences.

I can't fly airplanes anymore since I don't qualify for mandated medical certification. But the memories of the many hours flying small airplanes are mine forever: no disease can take away the magic of flying a Cessna a mere 100 feet above the Florida coast during a sunset!

I am no longer able to hold down a "traditional" 9-5 job anymore, but for the 11 years that I did, I shared small moments of my life with countless people, many of whom were amazing in their own right. Just as importantly, the need to stay home to properly manage my health has allowed me to make a living following my other passions of writing and photography!

I've had more than my fair share of lovers and partners throughout the years. My chronic illnesses created relationship obstacles that were often insurmountable. The blessing is that the weak are weeded out, and only the strong remain. I've been with my husband for half a decade, and look forward to many more years of providing him with companionship as he continues to give me much-needed support.

We cannot completely control our lives, but we have the choice to control how we feel about our experiences, the good AND the bad!
