A little about me: Hi everyone,
I am Kat and I have Secondary Adrenal Insufficiency, as well as Celiac Disease.I also have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and have had tubular adenomas removed from my colon (at age 35!) and have many fibrocystic breast lumps. I have also suffered from Chronic Apthuous Stomatitis, but haven't had an outbreak in about 18 months thanks to the steroid dose I am taking. (I used to get hundreds of sores at a time.) I had Lymphocitic Colitis, but it has recently 'healed' and my April 2011 biopsy is now NEGATIVE!!! yippeee!

I just had an MRI in May 2011 and it shows a 4mm microadenoma in my pituitary. My endocrinologist wants to 'watch it' and recheck the MRI in 6 months. It's in an area that has little effect on anything, according to my doc.

I have recently also had Pneumonia, Epstein-Barr Virus, a concussion and several infections (including staph). I suffer from vitamin deficiencies due to the absorption issues.

I am currently Prednisone, 6 mg every morning. I was on Hydrocortisone for 6 weeks but it didn't work. I felt sicker and sicker while taking it. My docs keep playing with my doses, but I have been on Pred since Sept 2008 and Entocort from May 2009-May 2011. I am down to 6 mg of Prednisone, tapering at 1mg per month, hoping to be 'off' by the end of the year. I have never successfully tapered below 5 mg, so I am a bit concerned about the entire plan, but I am giving it a 'go' if the docs think they can 'fix' the SAI by tapering off the steroids.
