My Awareness Ribbons

"Organ and Tissue donation gives life where there might not be any. I am an organ donor,I feel as if this can be a way of leaving a positive mark on this world. I am also Bipolar. There needs to be a better understanding of bipolar disorder instead of the stigma that is stuck with it."

"I am duel diagnosed and I found out throughout the years that being duel diagnosed can be a rough topic to get into at some AA meetings and can almost be a tabu. I have nothing but respect for AA but I hold a special place in my heart for the people I have met that are not afraid to talk about it, and shove the person out the door and tell him to go to NA."

"I am an addict and have abused perscription and street drugs. The physical withdrawl from drugs i was abusing is something I will never forget. I hope that I can help prevent another person from going through the same hell I went through"

"I have delt with and continue to deal with issues with substance abuse, sexual abuse and panic attacks."

Question of the Day:

If an alcoholic says something in the forest and there's no Al-Anon there to hear him, is he still wrong?

Iam duely addicted (alcahol/drugs) and have been sober for 12 years. What seems to complicate it all is I am bipolar. I am doing all i can to curve the symptoms (meds/doctors treatment). I find myself still needing help I still find myself cycling between mania and depression and at times it gets really rough and I feel out of control. What I am hear for ? to maybe learn something new and to help myself
