| Hi! I just read a little about you. I am 59 yr old and I, too, have wg, diagnosed with it in Sept 2010,when my daughter and brother literally picked me up and carried me to the emergency room. I thought I had pneumonia...which I did, but the Emergency Rm Dr said he was trying to figure out where my blood had gone to ( apparently I am anemic as well), was given 4 units of blood and hospitalized for about 2 weeks and diagnosed with wg at that time. I said, "What the heck is Wegener's? I started being treated at the UAMS in Little Rock, Arkansas, approx 15 - 20 minutes from where I live in Benton. I was put on 150 mg Cytoxin, 80 mg Prednisone. I weighed 130 lbs, now a year later the steroids have caused me to gain another 40 plus lbs. I am told that come October I will be taken off the Chemo and steroids and be put on a milder form of Chemo and NO steroids!!!!! (Happy Dance) I am trhrilled about that! This Wegener's has kicked my butt, changed my whole lifestyle, but I am better than I was last year...and I hope that you are feeling better too.
