| A little about me: | I am a 47 year old mother of 3 kids (age 26,13 & 9) with a supportive husband. My story: I was an active, athletic person most all my life. Sept./08 began fainting. After 3 different hospitals couldn't figure me out I was sent home and nearly died. Thank The Lord we were referred to an alternative Dr. who diagnosed me with Addisons Disease & sent me stat to an Endo. who confirmed dx in April/09. My case is an unusual one as I was sent to MD Anderson Cancer Center. I do not have a cancer dx. I have a perplexing case. A heavy metals test shows that my system has very high levels of various metals. I am currently doing "chelation therapy" as this is the treatment to remove metals. Life as I knew it has changed :). I am still learning how to manage life with Addisons....it is challenging. But, overall, the blessings are greater than the challenges. (Believe me, I have to dig deep to find that "silver lining" in the cloud). |
