MDJunction - People Helping People

MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

A little about me:
I am a random, self-proclaimed dork...Bright colors make me happy...I tend to ramble about a lot of nothing...I find it odd that I dance well, but still trip over invisible objects on a regular basis...I am more intelligent than I seem, because I'm a goofball...I love my nieces and nephews more than anything else...I have a cat with multiple nicknames...I would be the happiest girl ever if I could live near the ocean and do Zumba every day...I love to read, learn, and sing at the top of my lungs completely off key as much as possible.Dancing in the car is also fun! I'm a fan of art, quotes, photography and music.

I'm a very open person and have done a lot and been through a lot in my life, so don't hesitate to pm me if you need to talk or add me as a friend:}

I'm currently a 3rd yr psychology major. I plan to start out as a behavioral health tech, then eventually work with people who have borderline personality disorder.
My Awareness Ribbons

"I wear the purple ribbon for many reasons. Chronic back pain due to an injury a few years ago; I had back surgery to attempt to fix it July 2011. Chrohn`s Disease for my sister. ADHD and Emotional Abuse for myself because they are things I have dealt with and am currently dealing with."

"I wear the Periwinkle ribbon because I have been struggling with an eating disorder since 2007. It's one of many battles I'm determined to win."

"Although it's not on the list; the gray ribbon also stands for Borderline Personality Disorder, and that's why I wear it."
