| A little about me: | I have issues that the spinal stenosis group, fibromyalgia group, chronic pain group, anxiety-panic attack groups. Ive been diagnosed with Degenerative Disc Disease, (Radil) Radioculopathy, AND Marked Scoliosis AND informally diagnosed FIBROMYALGIA and ?arthritis in my arm which has been named carpel tunnel syndrome ( by 1 doctor)!! It'd be good to find someone who's affected by the same conditions in whatever degree to talk to.The wheelchair talk by one doctor scared me badly. I also grew up with rather severe skin allergies to foods and grasses/trees-which I am trying to find a connection I read that its condusive to fibro. Also I have had a digestive problem for years that is not diagnosed..things get "stuck" when I swallow-mid chest-which then causes "hiccoughs".Some relate it to esophaus problems. It is maddening and no one has put their finger on it.Bread is the worst& rice(allergy related?) It's 5 am and I'm trying. I do appreciate your letters. Im quite anxious over all this..overwhelmed. I cry ALOT. No one (friends) sees any reason to call, email or come. "I talk about the same thing & I dont want to hear it..What do you want me to do about it " one says. NO ONE GETS that I NEED COMMUNICATION not QUESTIONS...MUCH LESS DOUBT..I was told that when I called a they travelled from Seattle & said they "expected" to see me on the floor from the letters. I had a better 2 days..Now Im an EXAGGERATOR and any help I was going to get IS GONE* She instructed me the house needed cleaning after her 2 day visit that she spent 2 hours with me & told me how much the plane tickets were. Doctor? Been to 13 of them- every kind.(neeuologist-neuosurgeon, accupuncture, orthopoedic) got real uuuuuupset when they said thre was nothing they could do-not operable & to get a cane. When that fails..get a walker OR wheelchair ! OH & they did NOT schedule a follow up appointment either ! One suggested my posture..but didnt contradict the scoliosis. Ended up in Pain Management. Not been in a while due to communication & cost.EX; Pain shots come in a vial. Each shot out of that vial was $ 125. Thats just the shots-not visit or meds. Mri's showing discs vary in cost if you have insurance or not. IF not* they are MUCH LESS. For these conditions Id like to ask what you all are taking & how effective? I know meds need to be changed occasionally due to tolerance issues ? CORRECT? or change meds to be more effective !Have you been on meds that lost their effectiveness ? At the beginning his speech was...let me know if at any time meds dont work..there are so many combinations that we could try so don't hesitate.' OR "You tell me what you want me to prescribe !" Have you been confronted by a doctor who NOT discussed addiction BUT ACCUSED OF when a med no longer works or something may work better if tried ? I simply asked* If you look hard enough you will find that meds lose effectiveness when taken over a long time ???? Having allergy I took much medicine & shots as a kid plus allergic to food and grass and trees.. I got immune to alot. I now take little to nothing...trying thru you guys to see what type doctor I should pursue now ? Rheumatologist ?? Now my FEET are giving me a fit. They HURT !and swell What is that ?? I want to start a support group here . There is one rheumatologist but they only take insurance. The other I have seen once but he wouldt see me unless I stopped Pain Management completely. Im considering it. BUT for the insurance. I Will address THAT (IF I CAN) IN DYSFUNCTONAL FAMILIES- I have none thanks to mother cancelling it. Its a matter of pre existing conditions and coverge now. What kind of work can I do ?Doctors recomended that I cant stand-sit-stoop for no longer than 10 minutes. I know this to be true because my legs fall asleep in the cloth computer chair and I have fallen trying to get UP..WHAT IS THAT ? The PM 's gave me a sheet of exercies but never discussed getting Disability. Nor what function I could expect or if any loss. Lidoderm containing shots had for a while but lasted 3-4 days didn't justify cost.I have taken Oxycontin, Percoset, Lidoderm patches, Oycodon, MS Contin. I find many with fibro take other things. WHAT HELPS YOU ? The Aunt had a huge problem when I told her what I was taking to educate her on this & I had to get her help. I think she took it meaning straight morphine* AGAIN NO ONE ASKED AND JUST ASSUMED AND STAYED AWAY FROM ME. Thats what Im dealing with in getting help & understanding with this. They have never discussed depression with me either,,Between that and the OBGYN.. Menopause. .She has been littl help as well. I discussed my conditon with her and asked her if she could recommend any good disc, back doctors. She seemed offended and never replied. I wonder if hormones have any effect on these conditons. I have done so much reading. I cant get info from the doctors. I can't believe it all ?? Ive heard that these conditions bring on depression.. I was given depression meds. Zooloft something else. I could not take it. I did tolerate Xanax and I was better but they will not perscribe it. .What if you already have it.Ive been depressed off and on for a long time.. I asked..Amswer.."We dont treat for that -You will have to consult a Psychiatrist. How many are on disability? This is my problem now. My other half fell in a grocery store on wax that was not cleaned up or BLOCKED OFF. He has discs that are badly messed up in his neck & back/ was scheduled for surgery using cadaver bones but cancelled the day before I THINK.The last I heard was the lawyer telling me to get ready for my deposition..which never happened.Then to go across the state for surgery and It not happen? I asked to see their files and there were like 3 pages in it. (the work they did ). We called the insurer of the grocery store who holds the ultimate responsibility & they refused to talk but did warn us NOT to be seen at our business. that we would be watched. He also had an active Disability Policy with a MAJOR CREDIT CARD CO. thatdemands monthly pay in full. We filed the papers . He is totally disabled.. THEY refused to pay the policy.. Even submitted more papers ..still nothing. WE can not get a lawyer to help .. I dont understand. Any legal advice would be appreciated from legal knowledgable in FL or GA. The lawyers have done nothing. W...I have a vertebrae in my neck they quickly said nothing much could be done and one at my waist line on the left that is not surgically correctable. They said this in one visit. How is that possible ? On a lighter note. I have had KITTIES all my life. Favorite Siamese blue as a kid. 8-10 mixed and my B & W maine coone who picked me-slept on my head & played baseball with me(as the batter) and fishing as he would run after the lure and bring it back in his mouth. He weighed 18 pounds and barked. He understood over 10 words and loved I w/chili. He withstood our uprooting illnesses but couldn't beat his kidney trouble. I have his ashes....I am being ignored by this Aunt in Seattle. Recommend ? Dont be too harsh ! ! ! GREMLIN A friend is taking me to a version of AA next week Co dependents..I had heard of it thru a nurse friend of mine who I have tried to get to come visit me. I Just know she would help.. I wish these groups approached us more individually-not so much abstract. HOW ca we get these groupsto come a little more loser..than his online stuff. It would really hep. I a ging thru periods of INTENSE EAR It would help...MOREthan this PACING I DO. PLEASE ? |
