About Awareness Ribbons

General
Gender: Female
Occupation: lmt
A little about me: birthed four daughters, adopted two sons, fostered half a dozen, nurtured 'the church family' for three decades....
now at 53, i am a licensed massage therapist, living in the hills of northern pa....my 19 year old autistic son lives with me. the family imploded six years ago and i found my way out of the melee', into college and amongst a community of seekers...
i have fewer answers and simpler solutions and am trying to breathe in the spaces of confusion and complexity.
for those choosing not to relate (children inc.) intention for peace goes forth. for those moving within common places, may compassion and celebration prevail.

Katemarie, I have four grown children who have all "flown the nest". If you find any comfort in this as you watch your son progress and grow you have the satisfaction and commendation that you have loved, nutured, and been there for him through all of the battles. So many today in this world wouldn't do that and for your love you deserve a hug. None of my children were autisticm, so I can only surmise the challenges you must have gone through and will continue to go through. I do have a severely dyslexic child, but even she has done well - and I know that loving her with all of her problems was a key to her success today. It too will be the comfort for you just to know you and he are special. I send not only one hug, but many hugs - many for all of the hugs you needed when perhaps your son couldn't give them to you and many for the admiration I feel for you in sticking with him through all of these years. Sharyn (The button will only take the hug, but I am sending a great big salute to you also)
