MDJunction to me

sarahtroy"There's a special place in my heart for MDJ's Bipolars dealing with Alcoholism support group. As an alcoholic in recovery, it is my safe harbor. I draw strength and hope from our Bipolar alcoholics and addicts who bravely share their experiences and courageously face our common demons. This is a special, close and safe group to explore any alcohol or drug issues. I have made many dear friends and been sustained by the love and acceptance so freely offered." (sarahtroy)

A little about me: I have been diagnosed with major depression, severe, recurrent P.T.S.D. Borderline personality d/o and recently bipolar1 I suffer from ongoing chronic pain in my lower legs especially my ankles, I've had all together 4 flare ups of something not widely known of but it's called r.s.d. or I've heard recently they started calling it c.r.p.s. I have asthma, G.E.R.D., and seizures. I love to have fun and joke around but also love to learn new things
My Awareness Ribbons

"I wear the dual-diagnosis ribbon for myself and for many friends who have the same problem. Those with mental illness often are dual- diagnosis because we turn to something to help us cope before we ever seek help, often before we even know we need help. Once diagnosed we often retreat or relapse because it's are crutch, and all to often die as a result of dual-diagnosis. I know I've lost friends because of it."

"I wear a blue ribbon for awareness of childhood abuse."

"I wear a green ribbon in support of mental health awareness. In todays world alot of mental health programs are being eliminated due to lack of funding and we need to let people in power know that it's not okay."

"I wear this ribbon for both cancer and epilepsy. I suffer from seizures and have had 5 people in my family die due to cancer."

"I wear this ribbon because I have an addiction to self-injury and am a recovering alcoholic. Let's not trade one addiction for another. Believe me it only makes things worse. I also have had 4 major bouts with RSD/CRPS and even alot of regular Dr.s don't know what it is. Patients often get misdiagnosed, especially at first and it only increases the trouble."

"I wear this ribbon to encourage people who have or are suffering from sexual abuse. I have and believe me you are not alone."

"I wear this ribbon for suicide prevention. MDJ is a very supportive site. Feel free to pm me anytime about anything. I'd rather chat on-line then find out someone comitted suicide. I've been at that point myself and many others have to. Please reach out for help. Everyone's life is to precious to end this way."

"I wear this ribbon for myself and all who live daily with chronic pain. I also wear this ribbon to spread awareness of emotional abuse. Words DO hurt."
