MDJunction - People Helping People

MDJunction to me

peasha"This has been one of the most supportive places I have ever been. I found MDJ by mistaking looking for drs to help me with my many health issues and since that day over a year ago I have found a tight nit little family that keeps me going when the times are tough and offers me a place of retreat to share my successes and failures with others. I get to see the humor and seriousness of what I experience as well as the resources to learn about my health conditions. Thanks MDJ" (peasha)

A little about me: My name is Marie Juliette Buck

I am the youngest of three children and the only daughter mom had. I never married and I never had children. I am in my mid 40's. I am a late bloomer with Liver Disease, Learning Difficulties I prefer to call it because the other labels greatly offend me and I have lots of allergies. I've had a tonselectomy back in 1990. I like Warm Fuzzy. Soft blankets. Warm or hot tea. I am a bit shy sometimes from time to time. I like writing and I do some painting in water color and acrylic because it helps me deal with my issues. Art therapy is wonderful. I look forward to making many more friends on MDJunction. Thank you friends who've already befriended me I appreciate you very much. Thank you for the support. Looking forward to hearing from more people as I am a bit lonesome at times since my brother and I don't really hang out together much. Peace be with all of you. Sincerely, Marie Juliette :)
My Awareness Ribbons

"I wear this ribbon for Christopher who is a very loving young man who is in a wheel chair for the rest of his life. Chris was in a car accident when he was 16 years old and is now 30 and living in assisted living in Reston, Va. Chris is a very sweet and loving person with a great sense of humor. He came into my life at a time when I really needed someone and we have been there for each other over the last few years. He has a feeding tube in his throat and speaks pretty good considering his circumstance. This Burgundy Ribbon is for my HERO Chris. He saved my life when I was feeling very sorry for myself when my mother was in the nursing home. I love him like a brother. To Chris with Love."

"This Ribbon I wear for several reasons. 1) Suicide Prevention because its an important issue to me since its impacted my life through college classmates who's friends have committed suicide. 2) One of my neighbor's died from Bladder Cancer, 3) I myself have had liver disease, 4) For all the Down Syndrome Children in the world because they are loved no matter what and because they are so often misunderstood, marginalized, and discriminated against because of their challenges. Those are all the reasons I wear the Yellow Ribbon. This Yellow Ribbon is in memory of All those who've committed suicide and died from Bladder Cancer. This one's for you!!"
