| A little about me: | 57 year old mother of 2 amazing daughters, "Memaw" to 2 boys, and wife of 38 years to a wonderful man. I was admitted to ICU on Friday, 11-13-09 with renal failure and dehydration. On day 8 of my hospital stay, my condition was discovered while having a gangrenous, necrotic gall bladder removed. Diagnosis - End Stage Liver Disease. (cirrhosis as a result of NASH and fatty liver disease) Confirmation came through photographs of my liver, and a biopsy. I have since undergone the evaluation procedure, and am now UNOS listed, for liver transplant. I'm hoping never to need it. Especially now, as I'm status 7'd (on hold, but I keep accruing time) on the liver list due to a bout with breast cancer. UPDATE removed frm list due to cancer history. They'll re-visit the issue in five years. |
