MDJunction - People Helping People

MDJunction to me

jpcrps"When I found MD Junction, I was in the beginning stages of RSD/CRPS. I was scared, lacked knowledge about the condition, and felt very alone.

MD Junction changed all of that for me. I found friendship and terrific information from people who had first-hand knowledge of this syndrome. It was and still is a big part of my life.

MDJ was my first step on the journey of grief; from denial to acceptance. I am now inspired to help others by sharing this amazing site and sharing my own experiences. I am very impressed that one forum site can provide hope and inspiration to people suffering from so many different conditions. I am proud to be a part of this community.

A little about me: I was dx'd w/ intractable migraines 12 years ago. Three years ago I ended up at the headache center at the Cleveland Clinic. After being treated there for almost 3 years I happened to mention some of the strange symptoms I was having that were unrelated to my migraines. Fibromyalgia came up in conversation and I was referred to a local Rheum in Nov '09. I was diagnosed at that first visit and placed on Savella immediately. Now I am off the Savella and told there was nothing else this Rheum could do for me. So I am being sent to a specialist at University of Cincy Hospital.
We found that my Fibro is related to some emotional/verbal abuse I suffered from my mom growing up. Once I was dx'd it was like my body was allowed to "rearrange" where my pain was. Over the next month my pain began to leave my head and began moving into other parts of my body. They told me I had centralized pain because of the abuse. Since mine was not physical my body dealt w/ it the only way it knew how and that was pushing it all into my head. Today I still have migraines/headaches and I can feel the pain in all my limbs, chest and back. My head pain is not as severe as it used to be but still very much there.

I have been on countless medications (well over 60+) and alternative treatments. I have tried acupuncture, chiropractic treatments, massage therapy, TENS unit, different physical therapies, etc. All of these I tried long term- some for several months to several years w/o relief.

I also have hypothyroidism and asthma in addition to the fibro and migraines/headaches.

I recently started suboxone so I am hopeful this will work for my pain.
