| A little about me: | I am a 32 year old woman who was recently diagnosed with Crohn's. Was hospitalized for 2 months and had to have emergency surgery for severe abdominal pains. Woke up with a colostomy and illeostomy bag, diagnosed with Crohn's. 70% of my small intestines were removed, as well as a small portion of my large intestine. Will have a follow up surgery, (hopefully in January) to reconnect and remove the bags. Currently on Pentasa and 6MP. Was on Prednison and tapered off thankfully. Remicade was suggested, but now advising to keep for after surgery down the road, should i have a flare-up. Right now, I am pain free. YAY!!! Don't know what will happen after the surgery, but am hoping for the best. This disease is a lot to take, especially when i had no idea what it was prior to my diagnosis. All your stories are greatly appreciated and am here for you all. Best of luck! |
