MDJunction - People Helping People

MDJunction to me

MissNikkiAnn"When you have an illness with the name "Non-Familial Dysautonomia" (a name that most people, and even doctors, have never heard of), you need a network
of people who understand the name and the symptoms/issues that come with it.
MDJunction led me to that network of people during a very confusing and sickly time. For this I am thankful. And for this reason I try my best to give back to other members the same care and help that I received through MDJunction.

A little about me: I was 45 on 2/13/11 and have a son who is 23 who graduated college 5/6/11! My grandparents raised me, both gone now. My mother is a recovering alcoholic and my dad- well he was just daddy. Lost him to a sudden death Oct 14th, 2010:( I never lived with him and that relationship was never that of a little girl admiring her daddy. He drank alot too when I was small but he stopped that over 30 years ago. I witnessed my mom getting beat up as a child. She's been semi stable for 20 years. I'm starting to have panic attacks. I had one when I first joined this site and I swear, I could not have fallen off the empire state building and been anymore scared. I NEVER want that to happen again. I have had some real close calls since then but have managed to redirect my thoughts and get away from it. I think about death and dying everyday however I am somehow being able to function normally thru my workday-so far.

a HugThe #1 reason why people Quit, is because they look how far they've got to go, NOT how far they've come.
