MDJunction to me

aTinaL"To me, Mdjunction comes down to motivation. The support and information I have found here motivated me to take a very proactive stance regarding my illness. This led me to find medication and doctors that are giving me my life back.
More important than even the motivation, though, is the friendship I have found at MDJ. I have made some of the best friends of my entire life right here in this group. Even though most of us have never met, it feels as if we have known each other for years.
If Angels walk among us, and I believe that they do, most of them are here at MDJ.

A little about me: Hi. I had nerve decompression surgery performed by Dr. Perry. Mine was on July 7, 2009. It was like a miracle for me. I had been in a car accident on July 28, 2008 and suffered whiplash. Prior to that day I never had migraines. I have suffered most of my life (25 years) with lower back pain, but never anything in the cervical area. Right after the accident I had immediate pain in the rear of my neck, and mild headaches. By the time January 2009 came, I was having a non-stop 24-7 headache that caused me to live in a dark room with little or no noise. The only time I ever left the house was for doctor appointments. I tried physical therapists, chiropractors (this did relieve the muscular pain in my neck), accupuncturists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, etc. I had taken so many neurology medicines I can't even count. Nothing even made a dent. Through my husbands relentless searching we found two doctors, Dr. Perry and Dr. Jho. Dr. Jho was from Pittsburgh, where we lived, but he wouldn't do the surgery because the nerve blocks didn't work, and my headaches were from a car accident. Dr. Perry and Dr. Blake were more than willing to help out. I went down to Houston on a Sunday, met them on Monday, and was supposed to have the surgery on Wednesday, but because I was apparently on a pain medicine (that was a blood thinner) I had to wait until the following week. But it was definitely worth the wait. The first thing I remember after the surgery was asking myself "where did the headache go"?

I have a group on Facebook called Migraine or Occipital Neuralgia, please feel free to check it out.
