A little about me: I have Late Stage Lyme Disease with Bartonella and Babesia co-infections and possibly others. It has been a long road and I have lots of other diagnoses/problems that I will list later. The lyme was probably in my system for over 20 years causing that list of diagnoses/problems. Always feeling so happy to find out what 'it' is that is causing the pain and symptoms. Then the cure never working for very long. So is Lyme the Final Answer to it all, finally? Will relief and a cure be coming soon after all these years?

I am now 44, a single mom of a 6 and 11 year old. I currently work as a Technical Writer at 1/3 of my previous salary. I was a Senior Software Engineer and Mathematician for 17 years and at some point lost my math capabilities. I was a professional dancer (too briefly; car accident took that) as well and was in outstanding shape. Now, it is a huge effort to walk or use my hands sometimes. This disease has been life-changing in so many ways.

I have ALS or was diagnosed with it last year as my muscles started atrophying and cramping. I now know what curled toes really look and feel like. My fingers go all stiff and ALS-looking. I don't know the word to describe it. We are very worried my Tuberculosis will come out of remission/dormancy. I have autoimmune Hashimoto's disease, crohn's, irritable bowel, dysbiosis, leaky gut syndrome, Wilson's Syndrome, Metabolic Syndrome, alopecia, etc... I had 4 cancers and TB -and survived. This lyme is wicked-er to me. There is no projected time frame for an ending. Or a list of medicines with high success rates. No one seems to care about lyme like cancer. The pain is head to toe, literally, and unyielding and relentless. I just can't believe all this destruction and havoc lyme is doing to every piece of my body. I really thought I had lymphoma like my dad had. I laughed when the doctor said it was lyme disease. Then he said words I will never forget, "You're going to wish it was lymphoma." Then he said I was LUCKY because I tested so positive on both IgenEx (sp?) tests. Still I didn't understand what he meant. Now I know. I know and feel the gravity of the situation.

I have also been diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) and ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder).

I must say this tool has become somewhere I need to come to let it out. No one in my daily life I see can possibly understand how this disease feels.

My Diary
Lyme Bytes
This is my Diary about Late Stage Lyme Disease (LSLD). I also have several other illnesses. But the Lyme is taking the stage right now. As I learn more, Lyme may have caused and/or at least exacerbated my past diagnosed illnesses. From autoimmune troubles to cancers to TB infection to ALS. An incredible journey. An update - I am also carrying bartonella, babesia, and malaria. Parasite Party, I guess. I have a doctor that says he is committed to saving my life. UPDATE: I need a Texas doctor myself if anyone knows of one that will take me...
