MDJunction - People Helping People

MDJunction to me

2steveb" In life we all have trials and tribulations to endure weather it be physical, mental or social. For me personally when i encountered MDJunction i was astounded. Since i joined MDJunction to me it has been a god send and a life saver. I have met and been able to converse freely with so many people in the same situation as myself, (that alone is a big help, to know your not alone) to be able to discuss and get good advice from a braud section of people. One of lifes hardest things is to discuss personal issues with friends/family and yet the mdj family is non judgmental and you will be made totally welcome to talk through any issue thats on your mind. There are forums for every known issue to mankind, to me MDJ.com has become my family extension, id be lost without these good people and the extremely good guide lines that group leaders help us all with to keep threads topical and friendly." A little about me: Hello everyone!

I am a 23 year old RN who plays the mandolin, loves to travel, and enjoys anything outdoors (hiking, camping, running). I also just started rock climbing, but at the moment am unable to do so. Humor is one of the main ways I get through this crazy life. Sometimes I think life knows I have a sense of humor and just likes to screw with me..

I felt it important to write about the parts of myself not associated with Lyme disease first.

I was diagnosed in 2009 after 4+years of symptoms. My symptoms did not fully resolve and I was put back on Doxy and sent to infectious disease specialist who said my lab work was negative...

I managed to keep my symptoms in check until recently when I became very sick overseas and it caused a terrible flare up where I couldn't even walk. I am currently on short term disability while I get worked up. Will be getting my tests redrawn.

I was supposed to leave for the Peace Corps in a couple months. Right now my whole life is sorta topsy turvy. I might go back to school for public/enivronmental health nursing, though. (Hmm do some work with public health/Lymes perhaps?)

Inspirational quote of the moment:
A native American grandfather was talking to his grandson about how he felt. He said 'I feel as if I have two wolves fighting in my heart. One wolf is the vengeful, angry, violent one. The other wolf is the loving, compassionate one.' The grandson asked him, 'Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?' The grandfather answered: 'The one I feed.'
