MDJunction to me

suebaby41"I was recently diagnosed with Recurrent Breast Cancer In The Chest
Wall. I would not be able to handle it as well as I am without the
help of my MDJunction friends. It just proves to me that there are
lots of good people in this world and I am happy to be involved with
MDJunction who seems to have most of them.

A little about me: I don't have the energy or strength to begin to update my profile right now, but I am doing IV abx, so scratch the part about the orals below...maybe I will be able to edit sometime soon. Thanks!

I am pre-med biology major/ chemistry minor (on hiatus) at Appalachian State University. For years, I have thought I had Interstitial cysitis (IC), but just found out in October 2009 that I actually have had lyme my entire life.

I have done extensive research on lyme disease and would like to be able to focus on lyme research once I am able to get better.

I have a fantastic husband who is a great caretaker...and he also has lyme, which is so unfortunate. He truly helps me through everything I face and I don't know if I could have done this all without him!

I contracted lyme in utero...I just got my gallbladder removed and I just started treatment. I am seeing Dr. J. in Washington, DC and I think he has come up with a good treatment plan!

MWF
Omnicef 300 mg 2x twice daily
Zithromax 500mg 1x twice daily
Minocin 100 mg 1x twice daily

on week 3, thursday and friday, I add:
Flagyl 500 mg 1x twice daily

then, I get week 4 off and start over again! I am doing 2 cycles of this and then going back to see him! I hope this works and I have started herxing already!

For detox, I am using my infrared sauna once a day, and it seems to help! I also take many vitamins and supplements, probiotics, and friendly fungi! I also take lyrica and lamictal for the pain, but I fear it is not going to be enough...

My supplements:

Probiotic CP1 from customprobiotics
Saccharomyces boulardii
Magnesium
Ubiquinol
Cod Liver Oil
Multivitamin+ Iron
Vitamin D3 4000 IU
Lyrica
Lamictal

I am determined to beat this and stay away from the IV, so long as I can hold all the meds down!
