A little about me: Hello!

My FM was "officially" diagnosed by a Rheumatologist around April this year. I'd been suffering and making great progress with my chronic pain (as a result of an accident in 2002, in which I broke three lumbar vertebrae.)

For the past two years or so I thought I had FM, but it was not severe enough to pursue in light of the CPS. However, this past March I was badly rear-ended.

5 nights later, I woke up feeling like my hands were being stabbed! This progressed to my finger joints becoming painful and swollen, and large body joints becoming very painful. I looked at a web site that had the FM tender spots chart, and when I checked myself out, all of them were off the chart! Ick.

So I went to a Rheumatologist and she tested for RA (thank God that was negative!) However, the FM was/is very active. A bit less now then then but, CRAP!!!!

Started taking Cymbalta, but it gave me harsh stomach cramps, even at 30 mg. Quit the Cymbalta, and was put on Savella.

Couldn't tolerate Savella, due to a huge amount of sweating (like hot flashes). Even at a very low dose.

So, no "approved" FM meds in me now. I have to say, I miss the relief they gave me. Weighing the side effects, I'm better without them.

a HugHi! could you tell me once more what medication you are taking now. I know you told me before, but I can not find yourprevious message and I am planning to change Dr. to see if he is willing to try something new. After taking Cymbalta, Savella, anitriptalune, neurontin, and now Wellbutrin with out success I want to try what ever you are taking. I seem to recall that you said that you are taking abilify? is that correct? Is it still working for you?

a Happy for YouHi! how are you doing?
I am looking for a Dr. for my Fibromyalgia. My present Dr. after having tried Cymbalta, Savella, Amitriptaline (sp?) that made my hair fall off, diminish my memory or make me gain weight said that there is no other medication that she could prescribe. I told her about what you were taking but she said she will not prescribe something like that. Any way, I need help in finding out if anyone out there in the Washington DC and metropolitan area has a Dr. that is treating their Fibromyalgia thinks that they have a great Dr and is happy.
